We live in a time of globalisation, where the world is getting to be one big village. There is an Unprecedented amalgam of ideas, people, and culture interconnected through the Internet, a fading of boundaries. There is a quest for individuality and identities at an unprecedented scale. This quest and the conflicts have a sense of chaos, an anarchy of values in private and public life and society. There is a loss of direction masquerading as openness. Pluralism, “liberalism”, that anything goes out of fear that nothing does, the acceptance of values out of fear that there are none.

Lost in the vicissitudes of life buffeted by extremities I have been trying to find out, who I am and why am I here. This has made me ponder on my identity like a lot of others.

As Ezra Pound said “you try finding out why you’re not you & somebody else. And who in the blazes are you anyhow?”.

This inner turmoil and the conflicting pressures creates idiosyncratic identities.
